Hi! Thanks for dropping by.
I
would like to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about My Wire Works.
My
name is Margaret and Im a Wyomingite by birth, currently
living in California. You may
well ask Why California? since it is overcrowded, the freeways are always
jammed and the air quality lacks sufficient oxygen to be called pure.
Some days I ask myself the same thing but since wirewrapping can be done
anywhere, what the heck, these are the card I've been dealt. Hopefully
soon I will move to Virginia.
For
the last 35 years Ive spent most of my working days wearing fancy and extremely
tight high-heeled shoes, uncomfortable clothes, fighting rush hour traffic, and answering
to someone elses demands on my time and creativity. Most of the time I hated what I
was doing and always had my eye out for something more appealing and personally
satisfying. I had always loved doing creative, artsy crafty projects,
only to be told that I was wasting my time, it doesnt pay the
bills! I have spent the first half of my life doing it their way.
Now Im here to tell you Im doing it my way!
One
day, a friend, who has a similar background and similar interests, was scanning one of the home-based business magazines and noticed an ad that
promoted making and selling jewelry from home. He called the number in the ad, asked the pertinent
questions and passed the information on to me. I went bonkers! It was exactly what I was
looking for. I jumped right in and the rest, as they say, is history!
I
purchased the videos advertised and flew to Louisiana to meet with the producer and his
wife. The experience changed my life. Many artists in their chosen field will not
tell you how they do it, or how you can do it. This generous artist and his wife, however,
did and do share their knowledge and experiences. They share in abundance. Their names are
Preston and Mary Reuther, wirewrapped jewelry pros.
I
am extremely happy that I met and studied with the Reuthers. It has allowed my
natural abilities and creativity to expand beyond my hopes. I am now doing something that
I love! Thank you for the opportunity to share my art with you and I certainly hope you
enjoy it.
Again,
thanks for dropping by hope you find a piece of wirewrapped jewelry that
interests you!
